Applewood Helps with Groundwork Denver’s Greens Greenhouse Plumbing
This week, Applewood teamed up with Groundwork Denver to get their Greens Greenhouse plumbing in tip-top shape.
Groundwork Denver’s Greens Greenhouse started in 2014 to combat urban food deserts by providing healthy and affordable local produce to various Denver communities. In the 1800 square foot hydroponic greenhouse, there are over 15 varieties of seeds grown that produce around 3,000-4,000 pounds of food every year. This food is distributed weekly through their Community Supports Agriculture program.
Our team replaced their water heater, repaired a hose spigot, fixed our massive swamp cooler that runs the entire width of the greenhouse, and installed a double sink. Plumbing is the lifeblood of their hydroponic greenhouse, and these repairs and installs will go a long way in making the system more reliable and efficient.
