Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric to Sponsor NIVAS 10th Year Anniversary
Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric will be a sponsor of the NIVAS House Party and 10th Birthday on October 5th as part of their partnership to provide safe, sanitary bathrooms to the underserved in Nepal.
“We believe everyone, everywhere deserves a safe haven, a home where they can thrive,” said Josh Ward, owner of Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric. “Access to safe, sanitary bathrooms is one of the things we take for granted that others should be able to, too.”
In celebration of their 10th year milestone, the House Party will bring together supporters, sponsors and partners to help raise further funding for additional projects at Woodie Fisher (1999 Chestnut Pl., #100, Denver, CO 80202) on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. The event will feature food from chef Franco Ruiz, a live and silent auction and entertainment. All the funds raised will go directly to building new homes and assisting in the formation of home businesses. Tickets cost $100 for an individual or $380 for a friends 4-pack. Applewood has helped to build nearly two dozen units in the affected areas in the last year through their ongoing partnership with the Colorado nonprofit. The NIVAS collaboration is part of a program which ensures local trade workers build secure and safe bathrooms, assist single mothers, marginalized families and provide improved living standards. The entire health and safety of families is significantly impacted by access to such amenities. Numerous families in Nepal have an urgent need for houses that are both secure and functional.
“This has given Applewood a chance to have a local impact that has global ramifications,” Ward said. “We can boost the importance of trade careers, provide essentials needs and support the good works in our community.”
Since being founded, NIVAS has helped more than 2,500 people in 17 communities build safe resilient homes.
Located in Denver, NIVAS was established in 2013 by Lindsey Kruger. The organization has assisted in adapting traditional construction processes using code-compliant methods and materials.
