Applewood Plumbing’s $1,000 giveaway goes to All Comforting Things of Colorado, Inc.
Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric awards the December $1,000 Caring Community Giveaway to All Comforting Things of Colorado, Inc.
All Comforting Things of Colorado, Inc. (ACT) provides handmade blankets, mittens, scarves, stuffed animals, Christmas decorations and much more to local shelters, schools and other organizations in Colorado. ACT was created in 2014 when a group of friends met to start a charitable group that would do something good with the items they all love to make.
The volunteers at ACT are always dedicated to bringing comfort, encouragement and warmth to people in need, crafting items with joy to enrich the lives of those less fortunate and turning material things into gifts for those needing a reminder that there are people who care.
“It’s great to see people turning what they love to do into something that helps so many people who are less fortunate,” said John Ward, president of Applewood.
ACT operates with an all-volunteer staff of 33. The volunteers meet once a month to demonstrate their projects and share ideas. They are fortunate to receive donations of fabric and other craft items by friends and family members. These donations are displayed and the members go “shopping” for items to make additional crafts.
“We are so grateful for winning the Caring Community Giveaway from Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric. With the $1,000 donation from Applewood, we will be able to purchase additional materials that we use to make our crafts,” said Nancy Shepard, Director at All Comforting Things of Colorado, Inc.
