Outdoor Restoration Organization to Benefit from Applewood’s Caring Community Giveaway

Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric begins their fall quarterly Caring Community Giveaway where a small, local nonprofit has the chance to win $5,000 towards their cause. Employees of Applewood are asked to nominate a meaningful organization, after which, the charities are brought to the public for voting which takes place between Sept. 19 –Oct. 1.

This quarter’s theme incorporates outdoor restoration, which includes the charities: Colorado Trail Foundation, Groundwork Denver, and The Park People.

“We’re very proud of the three nonprofits that were chosen by our employees,” said Josh Ward, owner of Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric. “Our outdoor spaces are an integral part of Colorado’s communities and culture, and this lets us have a part in making those spaces even better.”

Colorado Trail Foundation plans to create and maintain a linear, non-motorized, sustainable, recreation trail between Denver and Durango. This trail will provide multi-day, inspirational, and educational values keyed to the diverse and natural environment.

Groundwork Denver  collaborates with youth and public volunteers to build a healthy, equitable, and sustainable environment in neighborhoods. This is accomplished through planting trees, cleaning rivers, creating gardens and other community projects.

The Park People  improve rural parks and green spaces by planting trees and working with local communities to educate others on how to keep parks clean and well maintained.
